This tour invites you to an unforgettable journey through the most famous and significant places of the Kotayk region. We will start with a visit to the Charents Arch, along which lines from the poem "I am my sweet Armenia" by the great Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents are carved. Then we will go to the pagan temple of Garni, the only preserved building of the pagan and Greco-Roman period in Armenia, built in the 1st century. After that, we will visit the Geghard Monastery, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and where the famous spear was kept – a supposed artifact with which, according to legend, a Roman soldier pierced the rib of Christ.

Khor Virap Monastery, for 1-3 persons
Khor Virap Monastery is an ancient Armenian monastery located near Mount Ararat. In clear weather, the territory of the monastery offers a wonderful view of the biblical Mount Ararat with wonderful nature. Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that Gregory the Illuminator was initially imprisoned here for 13 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia. Saint Gregory subsequently became the king's religious mentor, and they led the proselytizing activity in the country. In the year 301, Armenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Christian nation.

In the city of Tsaghkadzor we will visit the Kecharis monastery complex, where famous scientists and politicians of that time lived and worked. The main group of the complex consists of three churches, two chapels and a gavit, to the west of which, a few dozen meters away, there is another church, and khachkars from the 12th-13th centuries, the main one of which is the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator. Then we will visit the Tsakhkadzor cable car, where there is an especially significant chairlift with five stations and more than a dozen ski runs.

Then we will go to Kari Lake, also located on Mount Aragats. The tour will end with a visit to the former medieval fortress and Amberd Castle. From the outside, this three-storey castle, resembling an impregnable fortress, covers an area of about 1,500 m2.
